November 11, 2007 - XtraSafe® System

IRVINE, CA, November 11, 2007, Spellbound Development Group, Inc. today announced that it has been granted Canadian Patent No. 2449901, covering the company’s unique “one pull, one cut” XtraSafe® safety blade guard system.  This revolutionary safety system dramatically reduces the chances of accidental laceration injuries. The first product to incorporate this safety system is Spellbound’s XS-D safety utility knife.  This knife  incorporates an ergonomic design for ease of use and an integrated tape cutting edge to maximize blade life.  In addition, the XS-D features a surgical stainless steel blade that resists rust in the harshest environments and is completely disposable, reducing the possibility of loose blades contaminating food or causing other injuries.

 This patent expands Spellbound Development Group’s proprietary portfolio of safety cutting devices.  These products feature unique safety innovations designed to reduce workplace injuries and increase productivity.  Companies that have switched from traditional box cutters to Spellbound’s safety utility knives and cutting devices, have seen a significant reduction in laceration accidents, resulting in fewer OSHA reportable injuries, saving lost time and lowering workers compensation insurance premiums.
